The Athletic reported on Tuesday that the England Under-18 international had declined to sign a professional contract with Rovers, who instead extended his scholarship agreement into a third year. Arsenal have made several bids for Tyjon, but Blackburn have been unwilling to sell, which led to a standoff. However, the two sides have now reached an agreement and the teenager is set to undergo a medical today (August 21) before completing the transfer.
— Blackburn Rovers (@Rovers) September 14, 2024Tyjon joined Blackburn from Rochdale in the summer of 2023. He scored one goal in 14 appearances for Blackburn’s under-18 side and 13 in 33 games for their under-21 side.
The teenager has also made three appearances for Blackburn’s first-team, with two of those coming in the 20245-25 season and the final cameo coming last season.During his time at Blackburn, he has played in several attacking roles, including up front, in attacking midfield and on the wing. He has represented England’s under-16, 17 and 18 sides as well as Poland’s under-16 team.
