FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — If the last impression is the lasting impression, then the Philadelphia Eagles should leave encouraged by their offense in Thursday’s joint practice against the New England Patriots. For much of the session, the offense would not deserve the same praise. There were interceptions, incompletions and a few tussles from cranky and competitive players on a hot and humid New England morning. Then, during the final period for full-team, competitive drills, Jalen Hurts led the Eagles on a touchdown drive with clutch passes for an emphatic finish to two days of work against the defending AFC champions. And yes, he even caught up with an old friend. Here’s what mattered from the offense Thursday:1. Makai Lemon returned to practice on a limited basis for the first time in nearly three weeks. This was major news for the Eagles and a positive sign for the offense, giving Lemon three full weeks of practice ahead of the season opener. Lemon is expected to have a major role in the passing game and had been working as one of the top three receivers in the offense with DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks before his injury on Aug. 3. He also missed most of the spring.
