Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia have concluded a five-day joint air force exercise focused on water survival skills, the Lithuanian military said on Friday.
This year's Baltic Bikini 2026 drills, organised by the Latvian Air Force, took place in the Baltic Sea. Crews practised evacuating aircraft after an emergency water landing and deploying life-saving equipment – skills that flight personnel are required to refresh every three years.
The exercise has been running since 1999, when it was established under a search and rescue cooperation agreement between Lithuania and Denmark, with initial training held in Denmark.
Since 2004, the three Baltic states have organised it independently on a rotating basis.
