The fatal Aston Martin crash outside Inorbit Mall in Hyderabad has brought 21-year-old Lingamaneni Sanjush, son of Jana Sena Party Rajya Sabha MP Lingamaneni Ramesh, into the case after police named him as the alleged driver in connection with the death of a 26-year-old woman, reports TOI.Bharati Mukhi, a salesgirl at the Lifestyle store in Inorbit Mall, died after allegedly being struck by the high-end car while crossing the road on August 16. According to the FIR registered by Madhapur police, Sanjush was allegedly driving at high speed and in a rash and negligent manner when the collision took place around 3pm.Police have registered the case under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with causing death by a rash or negligent act not amounting to culpable homicide.Who is Lingamaneni SanjushSanjush is the son of Lingamaneni Ramesh, a Rajya Sabha MP from the Jana Sena Party led by Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.According to information about his background, Sanjush studied computer science at the University of Texas at Dallas. He is also associated with two companies in the energy and power sectors, Black Ridge Energy Private Limited and Capital Energy Private Limited, where he is listed as a director.What happened in the Hyderabad crashThe FIR was lodged by Lifestyle store manager Panjala Ashwin Kumar. It states that Bharati and her colleague Pooja Ashok Alone, both aged 26, had gone near ITC Kohenur to collect food.While the two were returning towards Inorbit Mall, Bharati was allegedly hit by an Aston Martin bearing registration number TG-09-G-0666 as she crossed the road opposite the mall.The impact left Bharati with a severe bleeding injury to her head. She was taken to Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills in the same car, where doctors declared her dead.Pooja later informed the store manager about the accident. Kumar then reached the hospital before approaching the police.Who owns the Aston MartinPolice records cited in the case show that the Aston Martin involved in the crash is registered in the name of Honor Prime Housing LLP.The circumstances under which Sanjush was driving the vehicle are part of the ongoing investigation.Madhapur police said Sanjush had not been arrested because the offence registered in the case is bailable and carries a maximum punishment of less than seven years.Madhapur ACP Ch Sridhar said notices had been served on Sanjush.“As the road accident negligence case punishment is below seven years, it is bailable. There is no arrest in the case. We have served notices to the accused. There is no lacuna in police reporting in the case,” Sridhar said.What Section 106(1) of BNS saysSection 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita provides for imprisonment of up to five years and a fine when death is caused by a rash or negligent act that does not amount to culpable homicide.Police said they were continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the accident and the sequence of events that led to Bharati's death.Sanjush and Lingamaneni Ramesh were contacted for their response, but an email seeking comment remained unanswered. Cyberabad Police Commissioner Masthipuram Ramesh Reddy was also unavailable for comment.The crash has drawn attention to Sanjush's profile as the son of a sitting Rajya Sabha MP and to the Aston Martin involved in the fatal accident.
