The Rural Electrification Agency is set to launch the Renewable Asset Management Company on August 26, 2026, as part of efforts to promote long-term investment and sustainability in Nigeria’s renewable energy sector.
The Managing Director of the REA, Abubakar Aliyu, said RAMCO was designed to provide a specialised platform for the professional management, optimisation and long-term sustainability of renewable energy assets.
In a statement on Thursday, Aliyu described RAMCO as Nigeria’s strategic answer to long-term energy financing, noting that the country needed institutions capable of connecting renewable energy infrastructure with long-term private capital.
“The agency is set to launch RAMCO on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, in Abuja, heralding a new era of advancing distributed renewable energy access in Nigeria,” Aliyu said.
