Ariana Grande has once again spoken out against the Trump administration for using one of her songs in a post on social media, this time for setting “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)” as the soundtrack for a post on the Team Trump TikTok account.
Team Trump posted a video earlier on Thursday of the President walking to a podium with text laid at the top of the clip: “Me and my truth we sit in silence… Men can’t have babies and should never compete in women’s sports.” The caption for the post reads, “This shouldn’t be controversial! #trump #arianagrande #maga.”
Grande took to the comment section to decry their use of her 2024 hit, writing, “Never use my music again. Also, your truth is false.”
This marks the second time in two months that Grande has fired back at the administration for using one of her tracks on socials. In June, the White House used a version of her 2024 song “Bye” in a TikTok post that depicted ICE agents arresting and handcuffing people. Grande commented, “Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense. Fck ice,” she wrote. Grande’s team had the sound removed from the post, though the one that uses “We Can’t Be Friends” still features the track.
