Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, on Thursday approved the appointment of new chairmen, directors-general and senior special assistants as part of measures to strengthen governance and improve coordination across key sectors of the state.
The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Njodi, who announced the appointments in a statement, said the new officials were expected to support the administration’s economic, political, social and community engagement programmes.
Njodi said Dr Kabiru Hassan had been appointed Executive Chairman of the Gombe State Urban Planning and Development Agency, while Dr Abdullahi Lamido would serve as Director-General, Economic and Social Reforms Coordination, Governor’s Office.
He added that Prof. Hassan Bello had been appointed Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, while Dr Takkani Solomon Jiga would serve as Director-General, Educational Reforms Coordination, Governor’s Office.
