Cineplex Cinemas Queensway was once on the verge of demolition, but it now appears to be safe from wrecking balls for a long time.

“We renewed our lease in 2025 and have options available to remain as the neighbourhood theatre until the end of 2045,” the movie theatre chain said in an emailed statement. “We have long-term lease options in place and plan to work closely with the landlord to be part of the new development.”
