Ken Paxton secured the Republican Party nomination in the Texas Senate race with a political boost from President Donald Trump, but what should be a favorable matchup for Paxton in deep-red Texas has grown far more complicated. Democrat James Talarico is consistently leading in the polls and completely dominating the airwaves, while Paxton is raising the alarm about the state of his fundraising.

During an appearance on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures earlier this month, Paxton made a public plea for financial help, saying that his campaign is “trying to get help from all over the country” and that Talarico has “a lot of money coming in” from liberal states like California.
