MIAMI GARDENS, Fla., Aug. 20 (UPI) -- New York Giants rookie right guard Francis Mauigoa was hurt and left early during a joint practice with the Miami Dolphins on Thursday in Miami Gardens, Fla.
Mauigoa was escorted by trainers heading into the Baptist Health Complex medical center. Giants coach John Harbaugh said after practice that the No. 10 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft sustained a stringer, or temporary nerve injury, in the neck and shoulder area.
"It's not a serious injury," Harbaugh said. "It's a stinger-type thing. He should be fine."
Mauigoa, out of the University of Miami, was listed as the Giants' starting right guard on their first unofficial depth chart for 2026. Aaron Stinnie and Evan Neal are listed as second-string options. Brendan James is the other backup right guard.
