Shell Petroleum Development Company reinforced its commitment to safe operations across Nigeria on Tuesday, gathering chief executives of its contracting partners for the company’s annual Leadership and Contractor CEO Conference in Lagos.

The event, themed “Learn. Adapt. Improve.,” is designed to underscore what organisers called a shared commitment to people, performance and safety.

Elohor Aiboni, Executive Vice President and Country Chair Nigeria, told attendees that Shell is executing a broad portfolio of projects to meet the country’s growing energy needs and support national development. Despite the scale of that work, she said, safety remains the primary measure of success.

“No matter how significant the opportunity, no matter how important the project, our success will always be measured first by how safely we deliver it,” Aiboni said. “That is why this conference matters.”
