The Google Pixel 11 is proof that sometimes simply being great is good enough. It looks, feels and performs a lot like last year’s Pixel, but there wasn’t much about its gorgeous design and smooth, vibrant display that needed fixing. Its cameras may be identical to what’s come before on paper, but they hide some serious upgrades to low-light photography, not to mention a handful of software-based tools that give you new ways to capture. Combine that with a notable battery life boost, and you’ve got a handset that does just enough to make the best smartphone for Android fans even better.

That said, the Pixel 11’s familiar design might dissuade enthusiasts who like to upgrade often, and like so much consumer tech these days, it’s more expensive than its predecessors. So, can the Pixel retain its throne as the Android phone to beat? Here’s what I think after spending a week playing games, watching videos and taking an absurd amount of photos on Google’s latest.

Google Pixel 11

The Google Pixel 11 brings better low-light photography and new software tricks to one of the best all-around Android phones you can buy.

An expectedly great design and display
