Karnataka Sanskrit University’s former Vice-Chancellor K.E. Devanathan and National Sanskrit University Vice-Chancellor G.S.R. Krishnamurthi release research publications at the valedictory session of ‘Utkarsha Mahotsava 2026’ in Tirupati on Thursday.

Speakers at the valedictory session of the ‘Utkarsha Mahotsava 2026’ conducted at National Sanskrit University (NSU) here on Thursday, stressed the need to incorporate ‘Gurukul’ form of teaching to bring Sanskrit within the reach of the modern world.The two-day festival is meant to celebrate the creation of the three central universities — Tirupati-based NSU, Lal Bahadur Shashtri National Sanskrit University (LBSNSU) and Central Sanskrit University (CSU) — the last two based in New Delhi.Former Vice-Chancellor of Karnataka Sanskrit University (Bengaluru) and Sri Venkateswara Vedic University (Tirupati), K.E. Devanathan, attended the event as chief guest. He called upon the universities to devise a road map for the development of Sanskrit by engaging in a brainstorming session with the professors and scholars associated with the institutions in the past.He also stressed on the importance of taking Sanskrit to the modern world, especially using the ‘Gurukul’ style of teaching.NSU Vice-Chancellor G.S.R. Krishnamurthi expressed delight at getting the opportunity to host the prestigious event for the second time. 75 research titles brought out by the university were released on the occasion.Darbhanga University’s former Vice-Chancellor Sarva Narayan Jha, event coordinator Ganapati Bhat, NSU Registrar Kadiyam Venkata Narayana Rao and Academic Dean Rajanikant Shukla also took part.
