A federal lawmaker, Unyime Idem representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam constituency in the House of Representatives has promised to support the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (ICCON) to strengthen its regulatory programmes and capacity building scheme.
Idem who is the chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Public Procurement made the pledge when he received the Acting Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of ICCON, Idongesit Akwaowo in his office during a courtesy call.
He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment of an illustrious son of Akwa Ibom State, a federal regulatory agency responsible for regulating and setting standards for the study, teaching and practice of Chemistry in Nigeria.
He also assured him of his commitment to discharging his responsibilities with professionalism, integrity and diligence, in the overall interest of the nation while formally presenting his letter of appointment.
Congratulating him on his well-deserved appointment, he urged him to “serve the nation creditably and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the chemical profession and the strengthening of regulatory standards in Nigeria.”
