Fidan discusses Syria with Egyptian, Saudi counterparts

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has held separate phone calls with his Egyptian and Saudi counterparts to discuss problems affecting the implementation of the Gaza peace plan and recent developments in Syria.

Fidan said on X that he spoke with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan as part of Türkiye’s diplomatic contacts on regional developments.

“We assessed the problems that have emerged in implementing the Gaza peace plan and the steps we can take,” Fidan said.

The ministers also discussed recent developments in Syria and reiterated their strong support for efforts to establish peace and stability in the country.
