Bauchi State Police Commissioner Sani-Omolori Aliyu issued a stern warning on Thursday against involvement in political violence, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the 2026 International Youth Day celebrations, Aliyu urged young citizens to reject exploitation by political actors. The national youth leadership and security initiative event was themed Different Contexts, Common Aspirations: My Future is Greater Than Political Thuggery. It took place at the Police Officers’ Mess on Jos Road, Bauchi.
”You are the architects of your destiny. Do not allow anyone to use you as cannon fodder for political violence. Do not let the lure of quick money from cybercrime destroy your future,” Aliyu stated.
Police Urge Stakeholder Collaboration to Protect Youths
The commissioner described the programme’s theme as a deliberate strategy by the Nigeria Police Force to foster dialogue on security and national development. He called it a declaration of war against forces that exploit young people.
