Prudential Health India offers access to more than 12,000 hospitals and plans to combine its agency network with an AI-enabled direct-to-consumer platform.

Prudential HCL Health Insurance (Prudential Health India), a standalone health insurance company backed by Prudential plc and the HCL Group, commenced its business operations in India.The company was granted its Certificate of Registration in July this year, enabling it to initiate its health insurance business in India.The company enters India’s growing health insurance market, which is estimated at approximately $16 billion in gross written premiums in FY26.“India is a strategically important market for Prudential, with strong macroeconomic fundamentals, rising demand for healthcare, and significant headroom for innovation in customer experience,’’ Naveen Tahilyani, Regional CEO, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, India, Africa; Group Agency and Health, Prudential plc, said in a release on Thursday.“By combining Prudential’s insurance and health capabilities with HCL Group’s technology and healthcare expertise, we aim to make healthcare more accessible and help more Indian families navigate their healthcare journey with confidence,’’ he added.Amit Dave, MD & CEO Designate, Prudential Health India, said: “Our focus is to go beyond the traditional role of an insurer and be there for our customers at every stage of their health journey.’’As part of its launch strategy, Prudential Health India offers customers access to a network of more than 12,000 hospitals.
