This is a weird assignment for me. Saying something positive about players people hate? I’m usually on the other side of that equation. My idea of saying something positive is combining two negative statements. But fine. Let’s go position by position. I’ll skip running backs, since last week I did the Zero RBs I like, meaning ones who I think are good values after the fifth round. So there’s no need to reinvent the wheel there. Just be careful to stay up to date on the latest news, as running backs are dropping like flies, it seems, with injuries of varying degrees.I’ve noted where the following players slot at their position in my rankings compared with where they slot at their positions in about 70 NFFC drafts held in the past week.QuarterbackMalik Willis, MIA — (NFFC QB21; My QB18)This doesn’t look like a big difference, but Willis is definitely inside my circle of trust as a dual threat with massive upside and a high floor. Willis can seemingly do nothing but end up being a top scorer. Consider 140 passing yards and a touchdown, plus 50 rushing yards and another touchdown. Dolphins lose 34-14. That’s still 20+ points from Willis in most formats. And what if he’s even a fraction of what he’s been in his very limited playing time for Green Bay? Last year, Willis scrambled on 19.1% of dropbacks and had a 15% designed-run rate, 4-5 times the league average in both categories. As a result, he averaged over 1 point per dropback and about 0.5 points per snap. Teams average over 60 snaps per game; so do the math. Will Willis score 30 points per game? Obviously not. But could he run his way to fantasy relevance and become a solid top-12 QB? Absolutely.Wide receiverCourtland Sutton, DEN — (NFFC WR35; My WR23)Sutton has been WR22 (2025) and WR27 (2024) in PPR points per game. These are the two Sean Payton/Bo Nix years. He’s basically Terry McLaurin with more consistency, but McLaurin goes 11 spots higher? McLaurin was WR16 and WR37 in PPR PPG the past two years. I’m not even saying McLaurin is a bad pick or is slotted badly at WR24. I’m saying Sutton is the same player. Same age. Same resume. He’s just cheaper because the market always has some summer riser who it thinks will replace him, but that never happens. He was also fourth in end-zone targets last year (14), and those are worth an expected 3 points each. Why will this change?
