Zinc futures (₹401/kg) has been in a steady long-term uptrend. While there have been consolidations and moderations in price, the broader direction remained up.Recently, the August futures broke out of the resistance at ₹398, indicating that the rally is intact. Given the upward momentum, the contract can rise to ₹412 in the near-term. A breakout of ₹412 can lift zinc futures to ₹420.However, if there is a decline from the current level, zinc futures can find support at ₹395. Immediate support below ₹395 is at ₹390, where the 21-day moving average lies. So long as the support at ₹385 stays true, the outlook will be bullish. That said, there is a chance for zinc futures to see a decline in price, possibly to ₹390, before the uptick to ₹412 occurs.Trade strategyBuy zinc futures (Aug) if the price dips to ₹398. Place stop-loss at ₹388. When the contract rises to ₹408, tighten the stop-loss to ₹402. Book profits at ₹412.Published on August 20, 2026
