(Yonhap) High temperatures that relented over the past couple of weeks are expected to return, according to the state-run weather agency.On Thursday afternoon, the Korea Meteorological Administration issued heat wave advisories in the southern part of the country and on Jeju Island, with tropical nights projected in some regions.The KMA forecast perceived temperatures as high as 35 degrees Celsius in some regions next week as the Korean Peninsula falls under the influence of the North Pacific high.But the returning heat wave will not be as severe as the record-breaking one observed in early August, when the country was under dual influences of the North Pacific high and the Tibetan high.Daily highs of between 27 C and 32 C are expected Friday, and on Saturday are projected between 27 C and 34 C depending on the region.Areas on the outer rims of the North Pacific High, including the southern region and some parts of the central region, can expect some rain on Friday. West coastal areas in Gyeonggi Province and nearby regions are likely to see showers on Saturday, with the possibility of the rain moving inland.Weather authorities are also monitoring the development of Typhoon Saudel, which was observed moving northwest from the waters off Guam on Thursday. It is expected to develop rapidly as it passes over warm waters and was seen moving toward Okinawa, Japan.The KMA said it was difficult to determine the typhoon's direction or how it will affect Korea as of press time.
