Samsung has announced its ‘Galaxy Event August 2026’ to introduce the newest addition to the Galaxy S26 series. Announcing the event, Samsung said “The Galaxy S26 series raised the bar with its boldest camera and AI innovations yet, making it easier for users to capture, create and connect every day”. Samsung’s Galaxy event is scheduled for August 27 and will be livestreamed on Samsung.com and Samsung’s YouTube channel beginning at 9 pm KST (5:30PM IST).Samsung Galaxy event: Expected launchSamsung said that it will bring another device under the Galaxy S26 series with latest OneUI and new experiences from camera to AI.“On August 27th, Samsung Electronics will hold ‘Galaxy Event August 2026’ to introduce the newest addition to the Galaxy S26 family — purposefully designed to bring the core Galaxy S26 experiences from camera to AI, along with the latest One UI, to those who look for what truly matters most to them,” the South Korean company said.However, it did not reveal the name of the phone, but if reports are to be believed, Samsung may announce the Galaxy S26 FE at the event.Samsung Galaxy S26 FE expected featuresSamsung Galaxy S26 FE is expected to come with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with Full-HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The leaked marketing images suggest the phone will have a flat screen protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+ and an aluminium frame.The Galaxy S26 FE is reportedly expected to feature a triple rear camera setup. This could include a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and an 8MP telephoto camera. A 12MP front camera is expected for selfies and video calls.Under the hood, the Galaxy S26 FE is tipped to run on Samsung's Exynos 2500 chipset. The phone could pack a 4,900mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging. The smartphone is also expected to carry an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and could measure just 7.4mm in thickness.Samsung is reportedly planning to offer seven years of Android OS and security updates with the Galaxy S26 FE. The leaked images also point to software features such as Horizontal Lock, My FanCam and Audio Eraser. The Galaxy S26 FE is expected to be available in Blueberry, Graphite and Pistachio colour options.
