A man, identified as Mr Paul, has been handed over to the Ondo State Police Command for allegedly assaulting his 10-year-old daughter for bed-wetting.
The suspect was said to have pressed a hot iron on the minor’s private part for bed-wetting in Upemen Community in Owo Local Government Area of the state.
The Ondo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr Seun Osamaye, disclosed this on Tuesday, after a visit to the young girl at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, where she is receiving treatment.
According to the commissioner, the state government swiftly moved into action when the case was reported at the ministry, noting that the father had been arrested and handed over to the police in Owo Division for onward prosecution.
