The Seattle Seahawks are continuing to add depth to their secondary, agreeing to a deal with former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs, according to a league source with knowledge of the deal but not authorized to speak publicly.Diggs, 27, played eight games with the Cowboys in 2025 and one game with the Green Bay Packers. He didn’t record an interception last season for the first time in his NFL career.The Seahawks have had a busy offseason in the secondary. They lost safety Coby Bryant and cornerback Riq Woolen in free agency, while adding a handful of depth pieces in safeties D’Anthony Bell and Rodney Thomas, as well as cornerback Noah Igbinoghene. They added safety Bud Clark and cornerback Julian Neal on Day 2 of the draft, as well as a couple of cornerbacks in the seventh round. Diggs burst onto the scene in 2021, nabbing a league-leading 11 interceptions and earning first-team All-Pro honors. He followed that up with three interceptions in 2022 and his second consecutive Pro Bowl nod.Going into the final year of his rookie deal, the Cowboys signed Diggs to a five-year extension in 2023. He got off to a fast start again in 2023, recording a deflection in Week 1 as part of a 40-0 win over the New York Giants. In Week 2, he had an interception in a 30-10 win over the New York Jets.The following week, Diggs tore his ACL in practice ahead of the team’s Week 3 game against the Arizona Cardinals. Diggs missed the remainder of the 2023 season, which led to a falling-out with the Cowboys.Diggs began the 2024 training camp on the physically unable to perform list. He was eventually cleared for play and started the first 10 games for the Cowboys, recording two interceptions. He missed the following two games with a groin injury and was eventually placed on season-ending injured reserve with a knee injury on the same leg as his ACL injury the year prior.The following spring, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones was critical of Diggs’ rehab process for his 2023 injury. Jones also began the 2025 training camp by expressing regret about moving quickly on giving Diggs a contract extension in 2023.Diggs played eight games for the Cowboys in 2025, contributing to a historically poor unit. He was released with one game left in the regular season after he didn’t return from the team’s Christmas Day game against the Washington Commanders on the team flight, choosing to remain in Washington D.C. to be with family for the holiday.
