The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) has strengthened pharmaceutical regulation to protect patients and improve access to safe, quality and effective medicines across Kenya.
Speaking at the Kenya Health Summit 2026, PPB Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Mohamed said the reforms are strengthening oversight of medicines, pharmacy premises and pharmaceutical professionals while improving the quality of care received by patients.
“Every Kenyan deserves access to safe, quality and effective medicines, supported by trusted and professional pharmaceutical care,” said Dr Mohamed.
The Board has introduced Good Pharmacy Practice Standards to define the level of pharmaceutical care expected in every licensed pharmacy.
