Twelve personalities from diverse fields won laurels at the 13th edition of Puthiyathalaimurai’s Tamil Awards held at the Chennai Trade Centre recently.The winners of the Achiever Award are T.K. Chandiran, Chairman and Managing Director, SCM Group of Companies; K. Thangaraj, molecular geneticist and population scientist; Lakshmi Vijayakumar, psychiatrist and founder of SNEHA; Thota Tharani, art director and painter; S. Ramakrishnan, writer; and Mohammed Riaz, former captain of the Indian Hockey Team.Those who won the Promising Talent Award are Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO, Garuda Aerospace; Srinath Ravichandran, Co-founder and CEO, Agnikul Cosmos; Nimal Raghavan, environmentalist and water conservationist; P.S. Vinothraj, filmmaker and screenwriter; Samyuktha Maya, writer and poet; and Thulasimathi Murugesan, Indian para-badminton player.The Tamilan Awards 2026 will be telecast on Puthiyathalaimurai at 9.15 p.m. on August 22 and 2 p.m. on August 23.
