MANILA, Philippines — Philippine stocks tumbled on Wednesday as rising global oil prices and the peso’s plunge to record intraday lows rattled investors amid renewed tensions in the Middle East.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) fell 1.7 percent or 106.36 points to close at 6,158.34, wiping out the previous session’s modest gain.
