A 12-year-old boy has been charged with sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl at a park in Scotland. Police received reports that a young girl had been the victim of a sex attack in the Duff Street area of Macduff, Aberdeenshire, on Monday August 10. The alleged assault is thought to have taken place close to the town's Community and Sports Centre. Police Scotland has now confirmed that a boy, 12, has been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged sexual assault. Police received reports that a young girl had been the victim of a sex attack in the Duff Street area of Macduff, AberdeenshireA spokesperson for the force said: 'A 12-year-old male youth has been arrested and charged in connection with the sexual assault of an 8-year-old girl in the Duff Street area of Macduff on Monday, 10 August, 2026.'A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.'
