Stravino Jacobs gave the Bulls one of their few highlights against the All Blacks with a lovely finish in the corner.

The All Blacks have comfortably dispatched of their third South African United Rugby Championship side ahead of their looming first Test against the Springboks, beating the Bulls 50–19 at Loftus Versfeld.

But after three matches against the Bulls, Stormers and Sharks the question remains: just how battle-ready are the New Zealanders for the step up to Test rugby?

The Stormers and Sharks asked questions of the All Blacks’ scrum; the Bulls did not. The overriding impression from the three games, however, is that the URC sides have struggled to cope with the visitors’ fast-paced, slick offloading game.

The Springboks are, of course, another proposition altogether. They have also had the luxury of sitting back, watching and analysing how the All Blacks are likely to approach the Test series.
