An advocate lodged a complaint with the Tamil Nadu DGP against BJP leader Nainar Nagendran, alleging that he made derogatory and defamatory remarks against Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay and his mother during a public event at Kamalalayam, the BJP’s party office in the city.The advocate, Vardhini, said that political criticism should not cross boundaries to demean women or family members. She also sought the police to preserve digital evidence, investigate the remarks under relevant legal provisions, and initiate appropriate criminal proceedings for defamation and public misconduct.
