Bola Oyebamiji, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has taken an early lead as the collation of results from the August 15 Osun State governorship election continues, BusinessDay learnt.
According to figures released by the APC situation room from 508 polling units, Oyebamiji has secured 45,456 votes, while the Accord Party candidate, Governor Ademola Adeleke, has polled 44,136 votes.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, Najeem Salam, is currently in third position with 1,300 votes based on the results announced so far.

The figures represent results from only a fraction of the polling units in the state, with collation still ongoing across the 30 Local Government Areas.
