A former Commissioner of the National Population Commission (NPC), Mudashiru Hussein, has commended security agencies for ensuring a peaceful atmosphere during Saturday’s governorship election in Osun.
Mr Hussein, a former senator and member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), gave the commendation after casting his vote at Ward 3, Unit 1, in Ejigbo.
He said the atmosphere in the town and the state in general was peaceful, allowing the electorate to exercise their franchise.
Mr Hussein also commended the large turnout of voters, saying it demonstrated the eagerness of the electorate to perform their civic duties.
He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the “timely arrival” of election materials and ad hoc staff for the exercise.
