The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency said its response team had contained a fire outbreak at Purple Crown Hotel, Balogun Street, along Awolowo Road, Ikeja, Lagos, with no casualties recorded.
The LASEMA Permanent Secretary, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, disclosed in a statement on Saturday that the fire incident, which was reported at 9:52 am, affected a room on the first floor of the hotel.
Oke-Osanyintolu stated that the agency’s Tiger Squad, working with the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and the Nigeria Police, arrived at the scene within 10 minutes of receiving the distress call.
“Upon arrival, responders discovered that a room on the first floor of the hotel had been severely affected by fire,” he stated.
