The atmosphere at the polling unit where Francis Fadahunsi, the senator representing Osun East, is expected to cast his ballot, remained calm on Saturday, with voters queuing as security personnel maintained a strong presence in the area.

Elderly voters and persons with disabilities (PWDs) were given priority at PU 001, Ilase NUD Primary School, Ward 04, Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State, where the lawmaker is expected to cast his vote.

At about 10:19 a.m., Yetif Amseh, a 100-year-old woman from the Ogbonaro area of Ilase, was assisted to cast her ballot at the polling unit.

Fadahunsi’s alleged threat

The calm atmosphere at the polling unit comes days after Fadahunsi allegedly threatened to kill members of the Accord Party found in Ilesa ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
