Minister for MSME and NRI Affairs Kondapalli Srinivas on Saturday (August 15, 2026) said that Andhra Pradesh State had been witnessing a rapid progress with the initiatives of the government. In the presence of Collector S.Ramsundar Reddy and Joint Collector S.Sedhu Madhavan, he hoisted the tri-colour flag in the parade grounds on the occasion of the 80thIndependence Day celebrations.Also read | Independence Day 2026 highlightsSpeaking on the occasion, he said that development and welfare were being given equal priority for the overall benefit of the people of the State. He said that the construction of the international airport at Bhogapuram would act as a growth engine for the quick progress of the North Andhra region. He gave away certificates to meritorious officials and employees. Earlier, he inspected parade and visited the exhibition.Minister for Agriculture K. Atchannaidu hoisted the flag in Srikakulam and explained the government’s initiatives in the last couple of years. He said that the developmental activities taken up by the government would spur economic activity and provide livelihood opportunities for thousands of youngsters. He urged public representatives and officials to rededicate themselves to achieve Vikasit Bharat and Swarna Andhra goals. Srikakulam District Collector Swapnil Dinakar and other officials also took part in the celebrations.People from all walks of life took part in the Independence Day celebrations held in Parvatipuram. Minister for Tribal Welfare Gummadi Sandhya Rani hoisted the flag and later explained the achievements of the government. A dog show and cultural events enthralled the audience.
