A Tasmanian woman is set to face court after allegedly sending poisoned coffees to her former partner multiple times in a "targeted attack".The 43-year-old woman from South Launceston was arrested on Friday and charged with two counts of attempting to unlawfully administer poison with intent to harm.Tasmania Police Inspector Aleena Crack said the woman allegedly purchased the coffees, tampered with them, and then used the Airtasker app to deliver them to her former partner.She said the alleged victim, a 47-year-old man, did not drink the first coffee and reported it to police, which launched a months-long investigation."The victim has received the initial coffee, found it to be unusual, and reported the matter to police and that's what's provoked the investigation," Crack said.Police had some "early indications" of what the substance was but were awaiting a "full forensic analysis", she said.The woman was pulled over and placed in custody on Friday, ahead of her appearance at the Launceston Magistrates Court on Saturday morning.Delivery people not linked, police sayAirtasker is an online platform that connects people looking to outsource everyday chores with independent local contractors bidding to complete the work.Police said there was no suggestion the people who delivered the coffees had any involvement in the alleged scheme."At this stage, police don't believe the delivery people were aware," Crack said."It is pretty common that [they] would do little tasks like this and there's no reason to suspect they had any involvement."She said police would allege the woman sent poisoned coffees multiple times over the last few months, in what she described as a "rare" case."Not one I see often and not something we see regularly in Tasmania, so it is an unusual case," she said.- ABC
