Motorcycle startup ZXMOTO has secured an investment from Sequoia China, signaling growing investor confidence that domestic motorcycle makers can evolve from niche manufacturers into global brands as demand for high-performance bikes and exports gathers pace.
While the companies did not disclose financial terms, Cao Bin, founding partner and chairman of Gaoxin Capital, an early investor in ZXMOTO, said in a recent interview that Sequoia China invested 150 million yuan ($22 million), valuing the Chongqing-based company at 6 billion yuan after the financing round.
The investment highlights growing investor confidence in the country's homegrown motorcycle makers as demand for premium bikes rises and manufacturers accelerate their overseas expansion.
ZXMOTO generated revenue of 670 million yuan in 2025 and expects sales to reach between 2 billion yuan and 2.5 billion yuan this year, more than tripling from a year earlier. Monthly deliveries have surpassed 10,000 motorcycles, according to the company.
