ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Bar Association has expressed concerns over the alleged deteriorating medical condition of Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha in custody and urged the chief justices of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) and Supreme Court to take immediate notice of the matter.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, IBA Acting President Iram Rashid and Secretary Raja Khawar Dhaniyal highlighted what they described as the serious situation being faced by the two prisoners.
According to the letter, Imaan Mazari is suffering from serious medical problems while in jail and requires continuous medical treatment. The bar association stated that Hadi Ali Chattha was also facing a difficult situation and required proper medical attention.
The IBA maintained that timely and appropriate medical treatment was a fundamental right of every prisoner and that the authorities concerned were responsible for ensuring that inmates received necessary healthcare facilities.
