Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday announced that the government will provide free online coaching for young people preparing for competitive examinations, aiming to reduce the amount families spend on coaching classes.The announcement came during Modi’s address to the nation on India’s 80th Independence Day. We will provide free online coaching for various exams,” Modi said.The Prime Minister also referred to the pressure parents face over enrolling their children in coaching institutes.“Every parent feels that if they do not send their child to a coaching class, they are not a prestigious family,” he said.Modi said the initiative could help families save “thousands of crores of rupees” currently spent on coaching. We have digital public infrastructure; we have excellent talent and teachers. By bringing these resources together, we are going to build a complete network to provide free coaching to the youth of the country,” Modi said.
