Temerloh district police chief ACP Mohd Nasyim Bahron said a 39-year-old woman and her 12-year-old son were believed to have died in a fiery crash involving their car and a fuel tanker at KM9 of Jalan Temerloh-Triang. — Picture via Facebook/Ramesh Kasi First Published: Saturday, 15 Aug 2026 9:10 AM MYT KUANTAN, Aug 15 — The police believe that the two victims who were burnt to death after the car they were travelling in was involved in a crash with a fuel tanker at Kilometre 9 of Jalan Temerloh-Triang this afternoon are a mother and son.Temerloh District Police chief ACP Mohd Nasyim Bahron said the driver and passenger of the Perodua Bezza were believed to be a 39-year-old woman and her 12-year-old son, who were pronounced dead at the scene.“The identities of both victims will be confirmed through comparison of DNA samples from their next-of-kin,” he said in a statement yesterday.Meanwhile, he said preliminary investigations found that a tanker carrying 32,000 litres of diesel from Seremban to Temerloh was believed to have skidded into the opposite lane.“Based on information from the victims’ next-of-kin, the car was travelling from Jerantut to Seremban. The collision caused the tanker trailer to crush the car, and both vehicles caught fire,” he said.Mohd Nasyim said the 37-year-old lorry driver, however, managed to escape and sustained only minor injuries.Meanwhile, he said post-mortem examinations on the victims would be conducted today. — Bernama
