Madrid woke up to a snow flurry that led some schools, roads and train lines to close and the air traffic to slow down in a city that’s not used to inclement weather, as storm Kristin barrels across the Iberian Peninsula.
Some schools in the Spanish capital sent messages to parents asking them to pick up their kids or informed classes would be canceled as teachers weren’t able to get to work. Roads around Madrid were facing bottlenecks mid-morning as people were trying to go back home. Car-sharing apps sent messages to users saying vehicles were not available due to the snow.
