Disney teased the first look at the upcoming “Lilo & Stitch” live-action sequel at D23 in Anaheim on Friday night. Stitch’s love interest Angel, a pink alien, was shown in a new image with glowing antennae.
Maia Kealoha, who plays Lilo, came onstage to introduce the film as a fuzzy Stitch waved to the crowd from onscreen.
Angel, known as Experiment 624, is known for her siren song, which can turn reformed experiments back to evil. She was introduced in “Lilo & Stitch: The Series”
Chris Sanders, who voices the character of Stitch and co-directed the original animated movie, is returning to direct the new movie, which is set for a May 28, 2028 releae.
The follow-up was announced by Disney about one month after the “Lilo & Stitch” remake released to theaters, earning more than $1 billion at the global box office.
