The Epic Games Store launcher is to receive a native Linux version, an Epic Games employee explained on the store's community Discord server. He did not provide a date.
A user wanted to know if a natively running Linux version is on Epic's roadmap. The Epic employee answered with a “Soon” emoji and a caveat. However, the current preview version that Epic Games is building for a comprehensive relaunch of the launcher does not yet include Linux. “As you can imagine, we need to do more than simply have a build of the launcher that can run natively on Linux”, the employee wrote. SteamDeckHQ reported this first.

The Epic employee does not elaborate on what exactly is missing. Linux does not appear on the roadmap that Epic presented for the store at the Unreal Fest in June.
