CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten said Friday that President Donald Trump has “the highest disapproval rating for any president on record” when it comes to gas prices, as the MAGA leader’s debilitating war on Iran drags on.Enten appeared on “News Central” to make the case with his own “Enten’s Aggregate” of polling data, noting Trump’s disapproval rating on gas prices sits at a staggering average of 79% — which overshadows vastly smaller peaks from three former presidents.“That is the highest disapproval rating for any president on record,” said Enten. “Joe Biden wasn’t liked on gas prices, but he only reached 72%. Barack Obama wasn’t well-liked back in 2011, but he only reached 68%. Even George W. Bush back in 2006, he reached 75%.”He continued, “I remember gas prices being quite high back then, but he only reached 75%. Donald Trump takes the cake as these $4-plus gas prices continue to give us pain at the pump. The American people are taking their anger out on the president of the United States.”Enten also noted Trump has secured the “rare trifecta” of majority disapproval, with a CNN-SSRS poll published in late July showing 52% of Republicans, 85% of independents and 96% of Democratic voters disapproving of his handling of gas prices.“You get the rare trifecta, and in the case of President Trump, a very painful trifecta, indeed.”The data guru recently highlighted how non-college voters are ditching him in droves after massively contributing to his 2024 reelection. Enten noted Friday that the president’s approval rating among the entire working class has been crumbling just as swiftly.The CNN-SSRS survey he referenced showed that 86% of all voters earning less than $50,000 per year disapprove of Trump on gas prices. When broken down by party affiliation, that means 90% of independents, 93% of Democrats and 66% of Republicans.“My goodness gracious,” Enten said. He added, “We’re talking 2 in 3 Republicans; 2 in 3 Republicans! Independents, 90%. Democrats, 93%. I mean, you just don’t ever see numbers like these. These are just atrocious numbers among the working class. A trifecta, indeed.”Enten noted the trifecta shows people “turning” on Trump “regardless of party identification.”
