Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Jason Arday, who resigned under pressure last week after making history as the youngest Black professor in University of Cambridge history, has been found dead in London, police said Friday.
Arday, 41, had been hailed as a success story by becoming Cambridge's youngest Black professor after overcoming autism and global developmental delay which saw him remain nonverbal until age 11.
But this year he faced accusations of plagiarism and embellishment. He resigned last week after the university announced it was launching a new investigation into his qualifications and path to gaining his academic post.
Without directly naming him, London's Metropolitan Police said Arday was found dead in his London home after officers responded to an ambulance call.
