This would be the first official visit by Pezeshkian to India, coming in the middle of Iran's ongoing conflict with the US and Israel.Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counter Xi Jinping are also expected to participate in the summit. For India, with the UAE also a Brics member-state, the challenge would be to forge a consensus on the West Asia conflict that would allow the summit to end with a joint statement. India holds the presidency of Brics this year.
