KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan Governor Jameel Ahmad has said that the country is continuing to move from economic stabilisation towards sustainable growth and will achieve up to 4.5 per cent GDP growth in FY27.

Addressing a gathering to commemorate the Independence Day with a flag-hoisting ceremony, Mr Ahmad said that the economy has made important progress towards stability during the past year, supported by greater economic discipline.

He said that prudent fiscal and monetary policies facilitated economic expansion of 3.7pc in FY26. GDP growth is expected to remain between 3.5 and 4.5pc in FY27, he hoped.

“This is an encouraging indication that the economy is continuing to move towards sustainable growth following a period of stabilisation,” said the governor.
