Top-ranking Democrats on the Natural Resources Committee of the US House of Representatives have opened up a probe into potential insider trading at US uranium junior Energy Fuels by CEO Ross Bhappu and its board chair, Bruce Hansen. The lawmakers are investigating Bhappu and Hansen's purchase of large amounts of Energy Fuels shares just days before President Donald Trump on Jul. 13 opened up nearly 3 million acres of the Bears Ears National Monument in Utah to mining, including uranium-rich areas of the San Juan Basin that are close to Energy Fuels' existing White Mesa uranium mill.

Lawmakers on Capitol Hill have launched a probe into insider trading at US uranium miner Energy Fuels, while Canadian uranium junior Denison benefits from rising uranium prices.
