Russian attacks on cargo vessels are threatening the supply of Ukrainian food products to Egypt and other countries in Africa and the Middle East.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in a Telegram post, according to Ukrinform.

"I am very grateful to President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi for his attention to the challenges to food security and the situation in our Black Sea region. I spoke with the President today, and it was a much-needed conversation," he said.

Zelensky noted that Ukraine is one of the largest food suppliers to Egypt and a significant number of other countries in Africa and the Middle East.

According to Zelensky, these supplies are currently under serious threat because of Russia's war.
