ABUJA: The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has restored four more previously suppressed State House of Assembly constituencies — three in Delta State and one in Kogi State — pursuant to court judgments directing the restoration of the additional constituencies in the two states.
This was disclosed in a statement issued Friday in Abuja by the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee at INEC, Mohammed Kudu Haruna.
According to the statement, the restored constituencies are Abraka, Isoko North II, and Ughelli South II State Constituencies in Delta State, and Yagba West II State Constituency in Kogi State.
The Commission said it had fixed 21st to 25th August 2026 for the conduct of party primaries for the restored constituencies, noting that this coincides with the period earmarked for primaries ahead of bye-elections to fill recent vacancies in the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency of Gombe State, Disina and Sakwa State Constituencies of Bauchi State, Udu State Constituency of Delta State, and Dawakin Kudu State Constituency of Kano State.
