As part of its business expansion initiatives, the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) is not only making its mark in the thermal power sector but also in renewable energy by taking up solar and floating solar power projects, SCCL Chairman and Managing Director Buddha Prakash Jyoti said on Friday.He inaugurated 1.23 MW of rooftop solar power plants installed on company buildings at the Singareni Corporate Area in Kothagudem and formally connected them to the grid.Speaking on the occasion, he said SCCL had already installed 245.5 MW capacity of solar power plants at various vacant sites within its premises.He said more solar plants would be established in accordance with Central and State government directives to contribute to meeting energy requirements.
